IST acknowledges its responsibility to Affirmative Action
(AA) and Employment Equity (EE), and is committed to
the development of all its employees in an attempt
to create a workforce reflective of the diversity of the
country’s communities.
IST Holdings has fully complied with the requirements
of the Employment Equity Act and has in place all the
required mechanisms to address the demographic
imbalances in the employee complement. EE is a multidimensional
programme at IST that forms part of a
broader strategy entailing overall regeneration of culture,
structure, policies, procedures and practices internally as
well as investing in the growth and development of
people from designated groups in the local community.
A number of company programmes address the internal
as well as external issues that face the development
and growth of the people of IST. Performance management
programmes, individual development plans, the
HIV/Aids information programme and the in-house
Occupational Health Clinic are just some of the initiatives
being undertaken.
