Column Flotation
Delkor Technik (Pty) Ltd are manufacturing licensees for Canadian Process Technology (CPT), a wholly owned Canadian company.
Column flotation is probably the biggest innovation the mining industry has seen in the last 50 years. It combines roughing and cleaning in one stage, it separates gangue particles which are entrained in the froth by a gentle water wash, and it has no moving parts.

Delkor Jigs
The trapezoidal shape allows for the material to travel from the narrow end of the jig to the wide end, thereby reducing the water velocity as it travels over the jig, resulting in capture of fine particles which are normally lost. The unique mechanism incorporates a variable speed motor driving a cam which imparts an even pulsation to the entire jig bed. The shape of the cam allows for lifting the bed quickly and controlling a slow downward movement to impart the suction necessary to draw the concentrate through the ragging. This mechanical drive system has reduced the amount of underwater previously necessary with subsequent decrease in fine concentrate losses. |

Delkor filter Press Delkor Technik have developed a locally manufactured range of Filter Presses after a thorough investigation of dewatering problems in South Africa.
The filter press is used extensively for mineral concentrates, chemical product and sewage sludge dewatering at pressure's between 6 and 15 bar. This method of dewatering is commonly used where conventional vacuum filtration cannot meet moisture requirements.
A state of the art digital ballistic fire control system is available as an upgrade for the T72 MBT. This enables the T72 crew to operate under all weather conditions. As part of the upgrade, stabilised sights are fitted for both the gunner and commander enabling them to track moving targets with the dual channel video autotracker during day or night conditions. Ballistic algorithms using vehicle and environmental sensors automatically calculates the required weapon offsets while the tank is static or on the move. |

Thickeners
Principle of high rate thickening The principle is based on introducing a foculated feed in a horizontal direction into the thickener sludge bed. This feed principle eliminates the free settling zone present in conventional type thickeners and enables High Rate Thickeners to operate at rates from two to thirty times faster than conventional thickeners. The solution entering with the feed must move upwards through the foculated sludge bed and this action effectively filters out the ultra fines or unfoculated particles from the overflow (common overflow clarities are in the range 20 100 ppm). A fully integrated control circuit can also be supplied facilitating greater flexibility with respect to operation. Auto feed dilution Delkor has developed a Jet/Venturi feed dilution system for optimisation of floculent usage. The Jet Dilution uses the Jet Pump / Venturi design to induce large volumes of thickener overflow to flow back into the feed de-aerator/dilution tank. As there is no head to overcome between the thickener tank and the de-aerator/dilution tank, large volumes of dilution water are induced to flow with small volumes of higher pressure water. In most cases the dilute floculent solution can be used for this purpose. Advantages are: Control: |
Horizontal Belt Filter
Delkor has been at the forefront of the development of Horizontal Belt Filters for the mining and chemical industries for the past 16 years and we have installed some 12 000 m² of filtration area in the United States, Canada, Chile, Australia, Europe and Africa. The design of our belt filters incorporates a number of innovative ideas which simplifies operation and reduces maintenance costs. High Filtration Rates Belt filtration rates are generally 2 to 10 times greater than those achieved on rotary filters. The principle reasons for this are:
Drier Filter Cakes When compared to boot feed type filters, belt filter generally achieve 1% to 5% better moistures: This can be attributed to:
Low Operating Costs Several advantages exist in this area:
Low maintenance Costs Generally maintenance costs are in the region 3% to 4% of capital cost per annum.

| Electro-Mechanical Dregder The traditional method of electro-winning of gold onto stainless steel wool results in the loss of large quantities of Gold on an basis through the manual recovery of the metal from the wool. EMD is the development of a hands free system for the electro-winning of primarily gold, as well as other precious metals and base metals. The patented EMD system has evolved through the innovative use of suction to create high-speed transport of metal-containing solution through in-tank (submerged) cylindrical electro-winning cells. These rotating cells have a high surface area (HSA) cylindrical cathode constructed of stainless steel expanded mesh forms the outer (structural) wall of the cell. This anode is surrounded by filter sleeve. High capacity suction pumps draw the solution, in a radial direction, through the filter sleeve, the outer anode and the cathode towards the cell axis. Here the solution is sucked downwards and then re-circulated back into the tank compartment, to provide beneficial solution agitation therein A number of cells are submerged in each compartment of an annular array of compartments, which constitutes the electro-winning tank. The incoming feed solution passes through these compartments following a serpentine path. The overall solution flow rate through the system is independent of the flow rate of the solution being re-circulated within each compartment. However, this solution flow is automatically manipulated so that entry point and exit point of the feed and barren solution, respectively, are periodically and systematically caused to progress around the arry to each compartment in turn. During this time the cathodes are partially loaded with metal that is electrodeposited on them. At predetermined intervals, and again in turn, the current to each compartment, as well as the suction to the cells therein, are automatically switched off. Ultrasonic energy and water jets are automatically applied to the cathodes concerned, causing the deposited metal to be dislodged and washed away though a discharged valve which opens automatically. From here it is transported away for further treatment. The current and suction are then automatically restored, the discharge valve is closed, and electro deposition in that compartment is resumed. The same procedure is repeated in the next compartment, and so on, until the electro-winning operation is complete. |
Flocculant Plant
Delkor's experience over the past 15 years in the International Mining Industry has shown that floculent plant selection, design and specification is one of the most commonly neglected areas of liquid/solids separation equipment. It is for this reason that we place maximum emphasis on safety factors and selection of reliable equipment for our plants. We have commissioned a number of Delkor Foculant Plants which have been running successfully for a number of years. Delkor Foculent Plants can either be supplied as an integral part of a liquid/solids dewatering circuit featuring other Delkor equipment, or as a complementary fixture to existing circuits. |
Abel - Piston Membrane Pumps bel GmbH & Co KG of Büchen, Germany, is a specialized manufacturer of piston and piston diaphragm pumps for the mining and mineral processing industry. The Abel piston diaphragm pump is excellently suited for the mining industry where it can be used for several high pressure slurry pumping applications. The piston diaphragm principle of our pumps ensure that very abrasive slurries and sludges can be pumped without wear to the main moving parts of the pump : the rubber diaphragm separates the slurry from piston, piston rod and cylinder liners which are consequently not any more subject to wear. Only the valves and diaphragms remain as wearing parts. This construction principle ensures unsurpassed reliability, availability and a minimum of maintenance and operating costs. Abel pumps are equipped with a number of different protection and control measures (such as diaphragm positioning control and full stroke safety valves) in order to guarantee a maximum of availability. Abel produces piston and piston diaphragm pumps : Crankshaft piston diaphragm pumps: Hydraulically piston pumps : These mentioned pumps can be used for the following applications : - Mine dewatering/desludging: - Ore transfer: - tailings transfer: - Autoclave feeding: - Back filling: - Other applications are: Abel Pumps are currently being used for these applications at al large number of mine sites such as : Konkola (Zambia), Ashanti (Ghana), and many more all around the world. Abel piston diaphragm pumps can be supplied with a number of different accessories, associated equipment and services such as complete drives, pulsation dampeners, commissioning and start up services, service contracts, etc. The extensive experience of Abel Pumps with high pressure slurry pumping applications qualifies our company as one of the world's leading suppliers in this field. Belt Press Delkor have been manufacturing Belt Presses for the wastewater and other industries for the past 10 years. * The new Delkor/Klein Presses incorporate an open design, with removable stainless steel covers, that when installed, form an enclosed press. The access for both visual and repair inspections is unsurpassed by any competitor. Experience has shown that the Belt Press has an availability approaching 100% due to the robust nature and high specifications to which the Belt Press is constructed, and since maintenance downtime is usually planned outside the normal running hours. The only components subject to replacement are the wear items such as belt cloths that will require less than a few hours for replacement. BENEFITS OF DELKOR OPEN PRESS DESIGN Certain imported belt presses have recently become available in South Africa incorporating an enclosed design for odour control as a result of stricter environmental legislation in Europe. However under South African operating conditions, the operators rely heavily on visual inspection of the different press zones during operation, and that is impossible with the enclosed designs. The Delkor/Klein design incorporates easily removable stainless steel covers fitted onto the traditionally open design, giving an enclosed press with the maintenance and cleaning advantages of an open design. |

Oxygen is the key ingredient by which composting and soil bioremediation takes place. It is the catalyst for the aerobic process - the workhorse that turns unusable trash into usable compost and assists in transforming polluted soil into safe ground. This thorough action processes all the material including ground level matter often missed by other turners. The result is the complete agitation and inversion of material allowing the biological process to do its best work. There are a variety of Windrow Turners for varying duties; please contact Delkor for futher information.
